HISTORICAL AWARD

Kusum Gboo Dance Ensemble was recently honoured as the Best Cultural
Group by the prestigious Ghana Music Awards during a colourful ceremony at the Novotel Hotel in Accra.

The group made history by becoming the first traditional music and dance group to be honoured at the music awards mainly due to its continuous efforts at promoting and raising the quality of traditional Ghanaian music and dance.

With two albums to its credit, the honour bestowed on Kusum Gboo will no doubt extend to other traditional music and dance groups, who have over the years carried aloft the rich Ghanaian culture through performances, workshops and lectures in Europe, Australia, the United States and other parts of Africa.

Kusum Gboo proudly shares this award with all traditional music and dance groups in Ghana since it marks an unforgettable moment in efforts by dedicated young men and women to preserve and develop the rich Ghanaian cultural heritage. The group has been strengthend and empowered by this award and will continue to promote Ghana and its diverse traditions at all times.
