A Night for Richard Danquah - the late artistic director of Kusum Gboo was remembered on 19th Dec 2007 in Accra with a concert at Alliance Francais - a mini cultural festival of four traditional music and dance groups

Stephen Osono and Nicholas Baker from Kusum Gboo and Samuel Olou,ghanaian fine artist, are offering norwegian pupils in the county of Aurskog Höland a taste of West African dance, drumming and baticwork. The project's vision is "to open the mind of the young generation about the social and cultural diversity".

FUNERAL in Accra. Funeral rites for Richard Danquah turned into a mini cultural festival with over one dozen groups making a powerful presence to honour the late composer, choreographer and dancer.

On 22.November 2006 at 19.00 p.m. there will be held a Memorial Concert for our great choreographer and dancer, the leader of Kusum Gboo Dance Ensemble, Richard Danquah, at Cosmopolite in Oslo.

Kusum Gboo is in Stockholm, Sweden and has been given workshops for students at Ballettakademiet. Saturday evening 22nd Oct., they will give their swedisch audience the taste of Somu! in two perfomances, as the final of the Tour 2005

Kusum Gboo Dance Ensemble mesmirised a capacity audience on Friday at Cosmopolite, a performance hall in downtown Oslo, with "SOMU", a contemporary piece with its heart firmly set in traditional Africa. Stay tuned for details.

Kusum Gboo's dance workshop at CAK (Oslo) turned into an African celebration as participants from diverse professions were taken through various forms and techniques of traditional African dance.

Kusum Gboo will today thrill fans with two spectacular performances at the Union Scene in Drammen. On Saturday and Sunday, the group will hold workshops in drumming and dancing at CAK, Oslo. Check tour calender more details.

Kusum Gboo yesterday mesmirised students of the Oslo University College (HiO) with expressive dance pieces. The group will today thrill students of the famous Rudolf Steinar Skole (Hovseter) and Hvalstad Skole with yet another magnificent performance.

Kusum Gboo will today Wed Sept. 21 enchant students of the University College of Oslo (HiO, Pilestredet 52) with diverse communicative traditional dance pieces from Africa that are accompanied by complex drum music.

400 students of Haugerud Skole (Oslo) today constantly cheered during a brief performance that followed a workshop for 130 students. Kusum Gboo will perform on tomorrow September 21, at the University College of Oslo.

Following highly charged performances in Koppang and Tynset, Kusum Gboo will on Saturday September 17 entertain fans with a magical performance at the Arendal Kultulhus. All tickets have been sold out.

Historical Award!
Kusum Gboo was on 28th April 2005 honoured as the The Most Popular Traditional Group in Ghana. This is the first time a traditional group has been honoured by the Pretigious Ghana Music Awards.

Kusum Gboo launched its 25th anniversary celebrations early this year with a magnificent performance at the Alliance Francaise in Accra-Ghana.
